grief with no compass
the timing wasn’t quite right, nor would it ever be.
i hadn’t sorted my memories of you into their rightful places so i could simply press play and relive you.
most of them escape me, just like you did.
i gripped too tight to your physical life and didn’t grasp onto the meaning until your breath and your light dove into the ether to dance with the stars.
so now i look up to relive you, cursing the clouds and full moons.
i suppose one day you’ll call on me, then i will begin to grieve.
until then i’ll grip the bliss of ignorance, grasping for the stars.
